How We NliveN
How We Gather: Weekly Workouts
Tuesday Dig Deep Night
Shorter, swifter, stronger workouts that open with connection around a theme, then integrate the theme into a fun, challenging run/workout to create bodily strength, mental gains, and wholehearted meaning, and end with a group celebration. You can also view these workouts as your weekly speed work, just with a little something extra. There will probably be music, and there will definitely be lots of sweat, whooping, and high fives!
Thursday Trail AdventureS
Adventure calls us in the summer and fall seasons! We’ll offer an extra run for the wild hearts who want all that new life in nature! We will explore the trails in the Santa Cruz and Aptos areas to see all the wonderful things that come with the changing seasons.
Saturday Joy Runs
These are longer runs or walks with a party vibe! Each week, these runs will offer a creative connection to the week’s theme, with playful, super fun, and definitely wild runs to celebrate all the ways each of us have shown up to the challenge and invitation of the week!
Many Saturdays will also include a celebration and connection of some form - from community breakfasts to polar plunges, costume runs, scavenger hunts, beach cleanups, and other wonderful and wacky activitie
How We Gather: What to expect
Tuesday Dig Deep Night
On each Tuesday Dig Deep Night, you can expect this general flow:
CONNECTION CIRCLE: 20-30 minutes
We introduce a weekly wellbeing theme - a real-life focus like resilience, letting go, embodiment, or rest - and a guide from nature that helps us explore the theme and use movement to grow, transform, and enliven. We take time to contemplate our connection to the theme, share with each other, and connect with one another in meaningful and joyful ways!
CREATE: 45-60 minutes
Workout time!!!
CELEBRATE: 10 minutes
Sharing celebrations from the workout and beyond, hear announcements, and join our special closing ritual! (Come see what we do!)
Thursday trail Adventures & Thursday Thrive
During the summer and fall seasons, we explore the beautiful trails of Santa Cruz County - all paces and movement styles, from trail running to hiking, are celebrated and welcome!
During late fall through early spring, we use Thursdays to thrive in all the ways - with holistic wellbeing and social events including our bimonthly “Grub Runs” (like a Pub Run but better - because food), yoga, trivia nights, stargazing parties, and workshops.
saturday joy runs
On each Saturday mornings, you can expect this general flow:
CONNECTION CIRCLE + WARMUP: 20-30 minutes
Time to introduce the focus/vibe of the run, get details about the route, connect with each other, and do a guided warmup!
CREATE: 60+ minutes
Workout time!!! Enjoy a long run or walk (your choice of pace and movement style!) - no person left behind. Turn back early or stay out longer; let this morning meet you where you are.
CELEBRATE: 10+ minutes
Closing celebration with a PARTY VIBE! This may look like a community breakfast, Polar Plunge, meaningful ritual, beach party, or something else wacky, wild, and wonderful! It’s always an invitation and not an expectation that people participate.
Holistic Wellbeing
We don’t just run - we get strong in all the ways! We offer strength training sessions, outdoor yoga, breathwork classes, meditation and visualization opportunities, workshops, retreats, quarterly Prediction Races, parties, and more!
Plus, we care about our community and causes. We use running, walking, and movement to support like-hearted local organizations, gather to give back, and advocate for justice by participating in initiatives, volunteering, and partnering with area schools and organizations to enliven wellbeing and change towards thriving for all. Our movement matters!
